Parents & Students — Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about registration, schedules, policies, and support.

How do I enroll my child?

Program hours & Pickup times depend on the weekday:

Parents may note allergies or restrictions on the registration form. Staff follow all allergy notices carefully.

Is bus transportation available?

A bus from the Donegal School District drops students off at the intersection of W. Main St. and Fairview St. Please contact Donegal Transportation to confirm availability for your student.

Do I need to report that my child will be absent for afterschool programs?

Child participation is completely voluntary, so parents do not need to notify the center of absences.

Is my student allowed to bring their cell phone?

We recognize the need for students to stay in contact with their parents, so phones may be kept on hand for necessary or urgent communication. Students are encouraged to participate in the program while present, so we encourage students to not use their phone during the program. If parents are unable to reach their students, please feel free to contact our office at 717-653-9511, if your call is not answered immediately, one of our staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

How to request special support for my child?

Parents are welcome to reach out to the center director or a staff member in-person at the center, or by phone or email. The team reviews needs and provides tutoring, mentoring, referrals, and faith-based guidance as appropriate.

Can parents volunteer or visit the center?

Parents may volunteer after submitting background clearances and complete a short interview and orientation process.

We welcome all parents to visit the center. New students often need time to feel at ease, so parents may remain on-site during the first program day if needed. After that introduction period, we encourage parents to drop students off and return at pickup to support each student’s growth in independence.
